Meredith Vieira might take a cue from his predecessor's Today Show, Katie Couric, and leave the work in the near future.
The Hollywood Reporter seems to confirm earlier rumors, saying Vieira will leave NBC's Today Show in June, almost three months before her contract expires. Website publishing news reports today Ann Curry will replace Vieira as co-anchor Matt Lauer close, while the correspondent Natalie Morales will be named on the current position of Curry.
Earlier, The Hollywood Reporter said Vieira, who joined Today in 2006, will quit to spend more time with her husband, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
Couric earlier this week announced that she will step down as lead CBS Evening News in early June. Matt Lauer was rumored, is considering leaving the Today show at the end of next year, though he exaggerated the reports during an appearance on Late Night NBC and Jimmy Fallon this week
