Girls Night Out

Academy of Country Music "Girls' Night Out: Superstar women in the country" was recorded earlier this month and air this evening (4 / 22) on CBS-TV at 8 pm central, 9 pm ET / PT. Special Celebrates Sugarland Jennifer nettles, Miranda Lambert, Reba, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Judds and Loretta LynnRascal Flatts performed an energetic cover for Reba, rock legend John Fogerty honored Judds, Little Big Town agreed with Martina McBride, Ronnie Dunn Jennifer Nettles brought up Tears, Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood took us to church and Blake Shelton serenades Miranda Lambert (who also debuted his new band girl gun Annie).

winners of the night include:

Judds - will be recognized for what most of the rewards AFM female duo won the Vocal Duo of the Year seven consecutive years, 1984 - ". Why Not Me" in 1990, and Song of the Year in 1984

Miranda Lambert - will be recognized for being the only female artist in the history of the Academy to ever win "Album of the Year" twice, first for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2007 and again for the revolution in 2009.

Loretta Lynn - will be recognized for her remarkable 50-year career as the leading female singers in country music, which includes being the only female artist to win Artist of the decade, Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the year.

Martina McBride - ACM life will be recognized for her dedication Lifting raise public awareness of domestic violence and promote women's empowerment through their music. She is a three-time female vocalist and was also awarded the Home Depot Humanitarian Award in 2004 for her charitable work.

Jennifer Nettles - will be recognized as one of two female artists in the history of the Academy ever solo writing and performing the victory song of the year, in 2007, "Stay".

Reba - will be recognized for winning female vocalist times more than any other artist in the history of the Academy - a whopping seven times.

Carrie Underwood - will be recognized for something that only performer in the Academy's history to ever win Entertainer of the Year twice, first in 2008 and again in 2009 (it is the reigning Entertainer of the Year as well as awards to recognize the previous calendar year in the job.) Underwood won female vocalist three times and won a total of ten ACM Awards.
