New Treatments For Narcissistic Diorder

Narcissistic personality disorder is a disorder whose cause is not known. Someone with narcissistic personalty disorder essentially obsessed with himself to such an extent that makes it impossible for them to make friends, keep a job or function within normal limits. They can not take criticism, they can not stand is what to do. They expect to be treated better than others, and do not understand when they are not.

Unfortunately, there are no new treatments for narcissistic personality disorder. In fact, there are no treatments specifically designed for this disease, mainly because the cause is unknown. Essentially, people with narcissistic personality disorder are receiving treatment from your doctor or therapist who is specially designed for himself and not be part of an established plan of treatment.

Some of the treatments that a doctor or therapist may try are:

     * Short-term hospitalization to stabilize the behavior of
     * Long-term facilities to provide ongoing support
     * Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
     * Group Therapy

If a person experiences episodes of depression or other  those can be treated with medication. In general, treatment is not prescribed for this condition, because it does not seem to help.
