9-year-old girl found dead in her home in Lakeland November accidentally hanged herself with a belt - probably during the game choking game to give yourself a tall, police said Tuesday.
Twan'ya Boyd was pronounced dead Nov. 24 at his home in 1103 Crestview Ave.
Last month, the office of medical examiner ruled the cause of death to be asphyxia Boyd for hanging, Lakeland police said. The staff has recently completed its own investigation, releasing details on Tuesday.
"Witnesses also said that Twan'ya been known to play what they are known as" choking "game in the past," states a news release. "Choking game is a dangerous activity which blood and oxygen flow deliberately limited to the brain choking each other or themselves.
"When the victim lost consciousness, the pressure is removed, and the secondary" high "of oxygen and blood flow to the brain is achieved."
In 2008, the 11-year-old girl of St. Petersburg, Deneathia service, was found dead after she hanged herself in a closet with a belt while playing choking game.
