Victoria Beckham gave birth to a girl - the first daughter of former Spice Girl and her husband, footballer David.
Child, called the Harper seven, was taken on Sunday at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
In a statement on his page, Facebook, former England captain Beckham said: "I am very proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Harper Seven Beckham.
"She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and came to 7.55 in the morning here in Los Angeles. Victoria is doing very well, and her brothers are very pleased that xx little sister."
Beckham, who married in 1999, already has three boys - Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.
Their representative, Simon Oliveira, announced the good news about Twitter.
"David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter," he wrote.
In another publication, he added: "Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are pleased to welcome their new baby sister to the family."
Friends of the couple were quick to send his congratulations.
I'm glad Mel B, who is expecting her third child this year, expressed his excitement on Twitter, writing: "I congratulate the other spices Yipeee baby is born, hell wish it was me this AM because I feel like I am!'s POP! "
The former Spice Girl Emma Bunton and chirped: "Big kiss @ victoriabeckham can not wait to meet your beautiful little girl!"
Before you call a child, it was confirmed stylist Sally Lindley referred to the possible name for a newborn, he writes: "Congratulations on a magnificent child of Beverly X.!"
