I remember a media screening of "X-Men" in 2000. Jac (publicist then and now) gave me the press notes, my friend and I sat down ... ready to look like that, "what is called the X-Men, who does not even feature Brian Mannix" (a joke only my countrymen to estimate). Two hours later, I was smiling - I just watched one of the funnest, smooth and most exciting superhero movies with, er, um, let me think, uh, "Superman: The Movie"!? Yes .. probably the "Superman", "X-Men" was that good - and Mucho Credits to Bryan Singer.
Here was a smart comic book movies that put the performances and the story first (continued too, and a second later - not a director singer, but Brett Ratner - forget the fundamental causes of critics and audiences loved these films and take Canon film approach to the material). And to this day that the original "X-Men" remains one of the best films of its type - well, not even his type, but the action / adventure genre.
